The Grand Canyon - "Breathtaking...but Don't Forget to Breathe"

Who gets a chance to say they have seen one of the Seven Wonders of the World? Well after today, we can!

The overwhelmingly beautiful view of the Grand Canyon chased all our tiredness away after our 8 am departure. After taking lots of pictures, we got ready to hike down the Grand Canyon. At 85 degrees F we began our journey down the dusty narrow trail and the best word we can think of to describe it all is 'majestic.' Squirrels and moles kept us amused as we hiked away the afternoon, talking with eachother and trying to take in the beautiful views. There are so many different colors in the rocks, it's amazing to think how this beautiful place was formed so many millions of years ago.

Most of us walked the whole 1.5 miles to the rest area, where we took pictures and were forced to use the scary toilets! After some exploration, stretching, and singing we were ready to head back up to the top. This was EXHAUSTING but worth it...because of the beauty of landscape, the peacefulness being surrounded by nature, and the great company we were with.

We relaxed with lunch and souvenir shopping before we did some more exploration with the shuttle buses that take you around the park to different lookouts. Some of us even saw the Colorado River!

It's interesting how being at the top of the canyon made us feel so powerful and proud, but at the same time, so small. We are so thankful that we had the chance to see this amazing creation.

The day was a success, and was enhanced by the delicious dinner to end our day at the Grand Canyon. We know we will never forget it.

We celebrated the amazing day with a party on the bus...dancing and singing and laughing.

Everybody's looking forward to our road trip tomorrow where we will stop at Route 66 and then continue on to....LAS VEGAS!!!
